Biden's Approval Ratings Plunge Amid Impeachment Inquiry, Polls Indicate

Public opinion polls show negative ratings for President Biden's approval and job performance.

According to a recent Wall Street Journal poll, President Biden's approval ratings have been dipping, causing concern amongst Democratic party leaders. The current approval rating stands at 43%, with former President Trump holding a marginal advantage at 47%.

Even within the Democratic party, three out of four members believe the current president falls short due to his age, while two-thirds of the overall population question his mental acuity and stamina. Proponents of the Biden administration are also concerned about the negative impact of 'Bidenomics' - economic policies pursued by the president - on his re-election campaign.

Recent polls conducted in battleground swing states show Trump leading over Biden. The results of these polls could indicate a rising sentiment of dissatisfaction amongst voters.

Talks of impeachment have dominated recent discourse, but it is important to note that this is merely an inquiry at present. The impeachment inquiry will investigate potential financial ties between Biden's son - Hunter Biden's - business activities and his father. Hunter Biden has previously been criticized for trading on his father's name, which included being on the board of an energy company in Ukraine and involvement with a Chinese company controlled by the Communist Party.

Hunter Biden, speaking from Washington, criticized Republicans for impugning his character and senselessly pursuing an inquiry in a bid to damage his father’s reputation.

Experts caution Republicans to not make leaps of judgment before full facts are revealed by the impeachment inquiry. It appears that a significant portion of Democrats, approximately 24%, believe that the impeachment inquiry is justified.

However, as of now, the question remains whether the impeachment process will proceed, whether the opponents will succeed in proving president Biden's direct involvement, or if this entire episode is brushed off as pre-election politicking. The current political climate is tense, and the coming months are expected to bring decisive developments. Notably, according to a Politico report, that decision might be made by the end of January.
