In a jibe at his vocal critic, President Joe Biden on Thursday announced his plans to visit the district of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R) in Georgia.

What Happened: Biden, during remarks in South Carolina, said the purpose of his visit to Georgia would be to highlight investments in manufacturing and promote his economic agenda.

“Since I took office, we’ve seen over 60 domestic manufacturing announcements all across the solar supply chain. One of the biggest is in Dalton, Georgia,” said the president.

“You may find it hard to believe, but that’s Marjorie Taylor Greene’s district. I’ll be there for the groundbreaking,” said Biden.

Biden’s comments came during his visit to Flex LTD that aimed to showcase the substantial investments of $500 billion made by private companies in manufacturing and clean energy throughout his administration.

Green has been one of President Biden’s prominent critics within Capitol Hill, and in recent times, Biden has been focusing on Republican lawmakers who did not support his agenda but have been praising new investments in their respective states.

Last month, the White House confronted Greene after a local newspaper from her hometown highlighted the federal public safety grants that her district was slated to receive under the American /rescue Plan. However, Greene, along with every other House Republican, voted against the plan in March 2021.

During his visit to South Carolina, Biden also publicly called out Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), saying while Graham had expressed support for certain aspects of his agenda, he had also voted alongside every other GOP lawmaker against the Inflation Reduction Act last year.

“President Biden looks forward to showcasing how Bidenomics is bringing good-paying manufacturing jobs to Georgia.” said Andrew Bates White House spokesperson.

“Bidenomics centers on growing the middle class and is delivering the biggest manufacturing surge in decades.”
