Amid growing concerns over President Joe Biden’s political future, two top Biden campaign officials have issued a call for Democrats to unify and focus on defeating former President Donald Trump.
In a recent memo, Biden campaign chair and campaign manager acknowledged setbacks within the party but emphasized the importance of moving forward together as a unified party.
The officials highlighted the need to stay focused on the goal of defeating Trump, stating that concerns over Biden’s age and campaign viability are distracting from this crucial objective.
They warned that discussing internal party matters during Trump’s convention could play into the hands of the opposition, diverting attention from the extremism represented by the MAGA movement.
The campaign plans to shift its focus back to Trump’s agenda as Republicans gather for their convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Biden and campaign surrogates have been drawing attention to “Project 2025,” a conservative group’s plans to reshape the federal government and American life, in an effort to highlight the stakes of the upcoming election.
Meanwhile, Trump has distanced himself from a closely aligned group, seeking to maintain a separate identity from their radical proposals.
