Biden And Trump Close To Securing Party Nominations

Donald Trump Joe Biden Isco APEC Summit in San Francisco

On this momentous night, history is in the making as the stage is set for a rematch not seen in nearly seven decades. Both Biden and Trump are on the cusp of securing enough delegates to clinch their party's nomination. Let's delve into the current delegate count starting with Biden.

As the polls in Georgia have just closed, Biden stands at 1,868 delegates out of the required 1,968 for the Democratic nomination. With 100 delegates needed to reach the threshold, the 108 delegates at stake in Georgia could be the key to his nomination. Notably, Biden has secured a staggering 98.8% of the delegates so far, with minimal competition from other candidates.

On the Republican side, Trump is also on the verge of securing the nomination with 1,089 delegates out of the necessary 1,215. Trump's dominance is evident with 91.4% of the delegates won to date, leaving his competitors far behind. To reach the required number, Trump needs 10.2% of the remaining delegates, a goal that seems within reach with the delegates up for grabs in Georgia, Washington State, and Hawaii.

As the night unfolds, all eyes are on Georgia as the results could potentially seal the nominations for both Biden and Trump. With the delegate counts and percentages favoring the frontrunners, it appears that tonight will mark a significant milestone in the race for the presidency.
