A bid for a railway station to return to Cheadle after 60 years has moved forward as a full planning application was submitted.
The plan has been in the pipeline since 2020 when the Stockport suburb was invited to bid for up to £25m from the government's £3.6bn 'Towns Fund'.
It secured £14m for three projects: an eco business park, a walking and cycling network as well as a £9m railway station.
