Biblical rain washes out Waterford FC's pre-season tour of Dubai

Waterford FC may have been expecting some Winter sun but instead got hit with much more homely weather when their pre-season game with Fleetwood was disrupted by biblical rainfall.

A gigantic shower ended the game prematurely, with Waterford shortly afterwards announcing the end of their tour of Dubai.

On Friday afternoon, The Irish club posted the below video showing the deluge of rain.

The Munster club travelled thousands of kilometres only to be stymied by the most Irish of afflictions - A waterlogged pitch.

The Abu Dhabi city has been hit with torrential rainfall over the past number of days. On Thursday, 40 millilitres of rainfall resulted in the Dubai Desert Classic being delayed for six hours.

When play finally got underway, Rory McIlroy shot a sizzling 66 to soar up the leaderboard.

As for Waterford, a long trip home awaits. Hopefully, they can get some nice weather back home.
