BHTC opens new facility in Pune, set to employ 300

PUNE: The German automotive climate control and interface solutions firm Behr-Hella Thermocontrol (BHTC) has inaugurated its new 1.2 lakh square feet integrated manufacturing facility in Pune’s Bhosari, located a short distance away from its older Chinchwad facility, with the firm having invested around Rs 10 million in India.

Michael Jaeger, CEO of BHTC, said that besides manufacturing, the Pune facility will also be delegated the responsibility of product development, which will be upgraded and manufactured in India, as well as its facilities around the world, such as in Europe and in China, among other locations.

The company added in a release that it is committed to invest another Rs 8-Rs 10 million in 2023 in the Indian market.

The new facility, which employs around 300 people, will service both Indian and overseas clients, BHTC added, with climate management and human-machine interface solutions (HMI), the latter being sought after by auto OEMs in connected cars.
