BHOPAL: A 50-year-old man was allegedly strangled to death in Nazirabad. His body was found lying in an agricultural field around 500 metres away from his village on Thursday morning.
SHO Nazirabad BP Singh Bains said that Puran Banjara, a resident of Siyarkala village in Nazirabad, was a farmer. His elder son had died a year ago after which his daughter-in-law started living at her parents’ house in Haripura village along with her 2-year-old daughter.
On Wednesday, he went to Haripura where a dispute took place between him and his daughter-in-law’s family members over custody of his granddaughter.
When he did not return home, Puran’s sons started searching for him. On Thursday early morning, they found his body lying in a field between Siyarkala and Haripura.
