BHOPAL: An 18-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her 32-year-old uncle in Eintkhedi locality around a month back. The accused had threatened the girl so she did not reveal the incident to anybody.
When a dispute took place between both the families on Thursday, the girl narrated the incident to her parents and approached Eintkhedi police to lodge a complaint. Acting on her complaint, Eintkhedi police registered a rape case against the accused and started investigations.
Investigation officer SI Urmila Yadav said that the survivor, 18, is the eldest among four siblings and has two younger brothers and a younger sister. She left school after class 8. Her 32-year-old uncle resides in her neighbourhood with her grandmother.
SI Yadav said that the survivor alleged that around a month back the power supply at her house was snapped so she along with her younger brothers went to sleep at her uncle’s home.
Around 5am while she was asleep, her grandmother woke up and went out to do some household chores. Meanwhile her uncle raped her. When she protested, the accused threatened her not to reveal the incident to anybody or else he would kill her.
The survivor alleged that she was terrified so she kept mum and revealed the incident after the dispute in the family. Police have registered a rape case against the accused and started investigations.
