Bharat Jodo Yatra to resume it's Jammu-Kashmir leg from Sunday

JAMMU: After a break of day in Kathua district, Rahul Gandhi-led 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' will resume its forward journey towards Jammu on Sunday morning.

Congress spokesperson said that the padh yatra (foot march) will resume at its scheduled time at around 7am from Hiranagar Morh and after five hours of march it will observe a break at 12pm near Duggar Haveli in Samba district.

"The yatra will have a night halt at Nanak Chak of Samba," he said, adding, "As per schedule the BJY will reach Jammu on January 23.

Meanwhile the security has been further beefed up enroute to yatra in the wake of twin blasts in Jammu outskirts injuring nine persons.

Party sources said that senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and others will join the yatra participants by late Saturday as they have gone to the national capital to release the logo of "Haath Se Haath Jodo Abhiyan" and a symbolic "chargesheet" against the Central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Amid rains and chill on Thursday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was joined with Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut and Param Vir Chakra awardee Capt (retd) Bana Singh while senior Congress leaders Jairam Ramesh and Digvijay Singh, JKPCC president Vikar Rasool Wani, former JKPCC chief Ghulam Ahmad Mir and others were already accompanying him.
