OK Beyhive, let’s get in formation.
Beyonce's seventh studio album, “Renaissance,” is officially scheduled to drop on July 29, Columbia Records announced Thursday.
Neither Queen Bey herself nor her record label gave many details, but the social media posts were labeled “act i.”
A box set now available for presale on her website includes a CD, T-shirt and a collectible box with a 28-page booklet and mini poster.
“Renaissance” will be Beyonce's first solo album in six years, following “Lemonade” (2016), “Beyonce” (2013), “4″ (2011), “I Am...Sasha Fierce” (2008), “B’Day” (2006) and “Dangerously in Love” (2003). She and husband Jay-Z released the collaborative “Everything Is Love” album in 2018 and she appeared on the 2019 “Lion King” soundtrack.
“With all the isolation and injustice over the past year, I think we are all ready to escape, travel, love, and laugh again. I feel a renaissance emerging, and I want to be part of nurturing that escape in any way possible,” the 40-year-old Houston native told Harper’s Bazaar last month.
“I’ve been in the studio for a year and a half. Sometimes it takes a year for me to personally search through thousands of sounds to find just the right kick or snare. One chorus can have up to 200 stacked harmonies. Still, there’s nothing like the amount of love, passion, and healing that I feel in the recording studio. After 31 years, it feels just as exciting as it did when I was nine years old.”
