Beyoncé‘s mama Tina Knowles claims that her Instagram account was hacked after she was spotted seemingly liking a post about the recent lawsuit against her daughter’s husband, Jay-Z.
On Monday (local time), the 55-year-old rapper — whose real name is Shawn Carter — was named in a civil lawsuit which accused him and Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000. He quickly shared an explosive response from his business account in which he slammed the allegations. He proceeded to file for the lawsuit to be dismissed and requested that the name of the woman accusing him of rape be made public. However, that didn’t stop the lawsuit — and his response — hitting headlines worldwide.
Early on Tuesday morning, eagle-eyed social media sleuths noticed that Tina Knowles’ Instagram account had liked a post by ABC 7 Chicago News referencing the lawsuit against her son-in-law.
A few hours later, the 70-year-old posted a notes-app statement on her Instagram Grid which claimed she was hacked.
“I was hacked!” the image read.
“As you all know I do not play about my family. So if you see something uncharacteristic of me. Just know that it is not me!”
In the caption, Tina wrote: “Please stop playing with me !!!! “No weapon formed against my family shall prosper.”
The whole situation is very ~interesting~ to me.
I’m not saying Miss Knowles is lying about being hacked… but I don’t entirely buy the hacking story.
Don’t you think it would be more believable for a 70-year-old woman to simply say she accidentally liked the post, rather than being the little girl that cried hacker?
It turns out I’m not alone in that hypothesis, either. A heap of people on X (formerly Twitter) agree that something is suss.
The civil lawsuit filed against Jay-Z was initially filed in October, listing Combs as the only defendant. It was since updated to include Jay-Z.
In response, Jay-Z slammed lawyer Tony Buzbee who filed the claim on behalf of his client, referring to him as a “fraud”. He claimed that the “nature of the allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle”.
“No sir, it had the opposite effect!” the rapper wrote.
“It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are in a VERY public fashion. So no, I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!!!”
In response, Buzbee claimed that the alleged victim never sought money from him.
“What he fails to say in his recent statement is my firm sent his lawyer a demand letter on behalf of an alleged victim and that victim never demanded a penny from him,” Buzbee wrote on X.
“Instead, she only sought a confidential mediation. Since I sent the letter on her behalf, Mr. Carter has not only sued me, but he has tried to bully and harass me and this plaintiff. His conduct has had the opposite impact. She is emboldened. I’m very proud of her resolve.
“As far as the allegations in the complaint filed, we will let the filing speak for itself and will litigate the facts in court, not in the media.”
According to NBC News, the Jane Doe of this civil lawsuit is seeking unspecified damages and has been filed under New York’s Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act.
