Beyoncé continues to break records as her concert movie, Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé, raked in in more than $21 million (£16.6 million) in its first weekend at the box office.
According to AMC Theatres, the Grammy winner’s movie marked the first time in 20 years that a film has made more than $20 million (£15.8million) on the first weekend after Thanksgiving in North America.
Elizabeth Frank, AMC Theatres executive vice president of worldwide programming, said in a statement: “On behalf of AMC Theatres Distribution and the entire theatrical industry, we thank Beyoncé for bringing this incredible film directly to her fans.
“To see it resonate with fans and with film critics on a weekend that many in the industry typically neglect is a testament to her immense talent, not just as a performer, but as a producer and director.”
Despite the incredible feat, her opening weekend is a drop in the ocean compared to Taylor Swift's Eras Tour film, which was released in October.
On it's opening weekend, Swift's film brought in $92.8 million (£73.5 million) and has since made more than $250 million (£198 million) around the world.
Swift surprised many as she joined Beyoncé in London last week for the UK premiere of her concert film, which follows the 39-date world tour of her 2022 Grammy-winning album.
The Style hitmaker later devoted an Instagram post to Queen Bey, praising the music star for her influence and "generosity of spirit".
The UK premiere of film also saw Blue Ivy, who features in the film, pose for pictures with her mother Beyonce.
During the picture-taking, Beyonce can be seen asking if her daughter is cold before stopping pictures to seemingly get her a jacket, in a video posted on Instagram by Beyonce's mother Tina Knowles.
Ms Knowles captioned the video: "This has me in tears right now. To the fans that are there uplifting this beautiful talented 11-year-old, I thank you, I appreciate you."
Other stars in attendance at the Renaissance: A Film By Beyonce premiere in the UK included actress Blake Lively, Destiny's Child star Michelle Williams, will.i.am and more.
Elsewhere, Beyoncé is taking over Flannels once again to coincide with the concert documentary release. It's the second time this year, she has done so having turned it into The Renaissance Flagship back in May during her five-day London residency.
This time around, the luxury retailer will be exclusively stocking the 16-piece Renaissance merch collection in their London, Liverpool and Sheffield stores from December 1.
