Beyoncé slammed listeners “trying to sneak into the club early” by listening to the leaked version of her new highly-anticipated album Renaissance.

Released at midnight earlier this morning, the 16-track studio album has gone down a treat with fans and the music legend has thanked those who waited.

On her official website and social media, she said: “So, the album leaked, and you all actually waited until the proper release time so you all can enjoy it together. I’ve never seen anything like it.

“I can’t thank ya’ll enough for your love and protection. I appreciate you for calling out anyone that was trying to sneak into the club early.

“It means the world to me. Thank you for your unwavering support. Thank you for being patient. We are going to take our time and enjoy the music.

“I will continue to give my all and do my best to bring you joy. I love you deep.”

Like Beyonce, it seems as though fans are more than happy with the new release too, with many heading straight to social media to air their thoughts after their first listen.

One user on Twitter gushed: "No skip and not to be listened on shuffle, only button you have to press is the repeat one. Enjoy the ride.

“This #RENAISSANCE experience is amazing #Beyoncé."

A third penned huge praise, saying: "Best album Beyoncé has ever made. #RENAISSANCE"

And a fourth added: "I am speechless!!!! No words #RENAISSANCE #Beyonce #ClubRenaissance

"Best album I've ever listened to! Best Beyoncé album for me! Beautiful closing song rn. Beautiful transitions. The way she's been talking her s*** the entire length of this masterpiece wow. Queen @Beyonce !!!!!"

Not everyone was entirely happy with her work though with one fan tweeting: "I know I am going to cop s*** for saying this but not really a fan of #RENAISSANCE as much as I love Beyoncé. 4 is still her best album in my opinion."

And R&B star Kelis was also far from impressed, accusing the star sampling her track without her permission.

The Milkshake singer, 42, took to Instagram to upload a lengthy rant about the star, slamming her for lacking "common decency" by not asking her if she could use her work.

She called the actions "disrespectful" before also taking aim at Pharrell Williams.

It comes after the superstar, 40, made a touching tribute to her late uncle Jonny, her kids Blue Ivy, 10, Rumi, five, as well as her twin brother Sir, also five, and her husband, Jay-Z.

Posting a day before its release, she said: “'This three act project was recorded over three years during the pandemic. A time to be still, but also a time I found to be the most creative.

“Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world.

“It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving.

“My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment. A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking.

“A place to scream, release, feel freedom. It was a beautiful journey of exploration.

“I want to give a special thank you to Rumi, Sir, and Blue for allowing me the space, creativity, and inspiration.

“A special thanks to my beautiful husband and muse, who held me down during those late nights in the studio.”

The 28-time Grammy winner shared a throwback photo of her uncle as well as a rare snap with her daughters, alongside the touching tributes.

She added: “A big thank you to my Uncle Jonny. He was my godmother and the first person to expose me to a lot of the music and culture that serve as inspiration for this album.

“Thank you to all of the pioneers who originate culture, to all of the fallen angels whose contributions have gone unrecognized for far too long. This is a celebration for you.”

Speaking to her fans, she said: "I hope you find joy in this music. I hope it inspires you to release the wiggle. Ha! And to feel as unique, strong, and sexy as you are."
