Beware: GTA 6 story spoilers are now being leaked

A new milestone in the ongoing saga of GTA 6 leaks is here. For the first time since the leaks began last week, Cyberleeks has posted story spoilers for the upcoming game.

In an almost five-minute clip, the prologue of Grand Theft Auto 6 was posted online by Cyberleeks. As hinted by official marketing, it shows Lucia in jail alongside some flashbacks to the time before her arrest for whatever crime landed her in prison.

Warning: Spoilers for GTA 6 follow.

So far, the only content leaked by Cyberleeks has been short clips of gameplay, often featuring the player just driving (or flying) around Vice City, antagonizing NPCs, or taking in the sights – from strip clubs to the beach. Now, the type of content being leaked has completely changed to spoilers for the story of the game.

From this point forward, it seems that all bets are off in terms of plot spoilers. For anyone hoping to avoid too much information about GTA 6 going forward, it might be best to avoid social media for a while.

What happens in the video?

Flashbacks dating nine months ago show Lucia in a restaurant, looking a little worse for wear and nervous, before a chiming noise triggers the scene to change back into the present. In a women’s prison, Lucia walks around interacting with guards and her fellow inmates before heading to a meeting. Lucia seems to be on friendly terms with the guard that escorts her, and her meeting (which isn’t shown in the leak) could lead to her release from prison as seen in official GTA 6 trailers.

The clip ends there, which means that it didn’t end up showing too much of the story than what was already known – that Lucia is in prison for an unknown crime – but the threat is clear. Cyberleeks has access to the full game, or a significant enough portion, and the leaks will only get worse for Rockstar Games from this point forward.

While the leaks have been flowing at a steady rate, the introduction of story leaks seems purposeful with Rockstar’s recent statement regarding the leaks. Since they made no mention of Cyberleek’s stated aim of enacting “gamer’s rights”, the leaker may have decided that the time was ripe to up the ante.

As of now, there’s no information on who Cyberleek is, but Take-Two Interactive is currently hunting them down via legal means.
