Best vacuum cleaner deals for Amazon Prime Day 2024: Shark, Dyson and more

You know you’re getting into the swing of adulthood when the mere thought of a new vacuum cleaner sparks unbridled joy.

Frankly, who could blame you? Vacuums that don’t do their job and leave pockets of dust, dog hair and tumbleweed-like fluff around the house are downright infuriating.

If there’s any time to ponder a new vacuum, it is now. Summer is here and with a swanky new cleaner in your hands, you can zip around the house with a dustbuster that will become your favourite cleaning comrade for years to come.

The thing is, they don’t tend to come cheap. This is where Amazon takes the stand. The online retailer is hosting a sale which means your dream Dyson may be just a click away.

What is Amazon Prime Day?

Every year, Amazon hosts a sale extravaganza in the summer where the one-stop shop slashes prices much to the delight of Prime members. There are also sales in March and October too.

There are reductions across the board on home and kitchen appliances, laptops, lawnmowers, Amazon devices, alcohol and kids’ toys - to name but a few.

When is Amazon Prime Big Deal Days?

We were treated to a Prime Day bonanza back in July - and Amazon has revealed that there will be another sale in October. Stay tuned.

How to take part in Amazon Prime Big Deal Days

Amazon Primers, you’re all sorted. All that is required is an Amazon Prime subscription and you’re good to go. Prime subscriptions cost £8.99 a month, or you can pay yearly for £95, which is a tad cheaper. Amazon Student membership fees come in at £4.49 per month or £47.49 per year.

Order discounted items for next-day delivery, enjoy a wildly affordable food shop for the family or browse the endless film library on Amazon Prime.

Sign up for a 30-day free trial for Prime here.

What kind of vacuum cleaner deals were there last year?

Dyson, Shark, Miele, Russell Hobbs - you name it, Amazon discounted it.

Are there any vacuum cleaner discounts available at Amazon now?

There are indeed. From Hoover to Shark and Beko, there are ample models to browse below. Check out more options in our monthly round-up here.

Robot Vacuum Deals

Shark Matrix Plus 2-in-1 Self-Empty Robot Vacuum & Mop

The Shark Matrix 2-in-1 has changed my life. When it comes to day-to-day cleaning, it keeps my entire flat fresher than before for considerably less effort. It’s a game-changer whenever I have guests, too – I simply send it out to clean while I’m at work so everything’s clean the moment I step in the door.

Not that it’s replaced my old vacuum, which will be waiting in the wings for deep cleans and hard-to-reach spots, but it’s solved the tedious task of vacuuming on the daily which saves me a great deal of time and stress throughout the week. When I clean, I move small furniture around (like the bin or a coffee table) to make sure I’ve covered the floor in its entirety. There are some nooks where it simply won’t fit – next to the bathroom sink, for example.

Once you’ve unpacked the auto-empty dock, two side brushes, two washable mopping pads, the mop reservoir, the instructions and the vacuum itself, which all comes packaged in one neat box, it’s time for the hard part – choosing where your new cleaning companion is going to live. Shark recommends you plug in the dock against a wall where there’s a metre of clear space on either side and in front – and the dock itself is roughly the width of a loaf of bread.

Before embarking on its first vacuuming task, it needs to ‘explore’ to map your home – a process which I quite enjoyed. For me, it took roughly 45 minutes before hearing Bruce’s cry of delight when he completed the assignment and made his way back to his docking station. Then, you receive a detailed floor plan of your house which you can access via your app.

The app will then prompt you to create rooms and no-go zones – which will usually be carpets or rugs you’d like to be avoided when mopping. It’s a powerful mop too. As it slowly but surely makes its way around the map, it scrubs hard floors 100 times per minute – which Shark describes as ‘sonic mopping’. You can actually see the pad moving from side to side throughout the clean. It doesn’t leave your floors too wet either

I’d hoovered the day before and believed my floors to be relatively clean. On its first run, though, it had to empty halfway through before continuing the clean. All in all, he collected roughly a grapefruit-sized ball of dust from a flat that already seemed dirt-free.

Since the robot moves extremely slowly and methodically throughout your home, it spends much more time collecting dust and debris than you would on a day-to-day spruce. I was mainly impressed by the way it collects from the sides and corners. It detects the edges, before emitting puffs of air which blow any dust in its path before collecting it. Better yet, it’s quieter than any hoover I’ve ever owned – bar the cute jingles on starting and finishing a shift as well as when it empties in the docking station (which sounds more like a traditional vacuum).

eufy X10 Pro Omni Robot Vacuum Cleaner with Mop

eufy X10 Pro Omni Robot Vacuum Cleaner with Mop is great at getting under furniture and navigating various terrain as well as cleaning nooks and crannies. The mop is also helpful, giving my kitchen and bathroom a speedy wash.

Using the mop function is fairly simple. It’s just a case of wetting an included cloth and sliding it along the bracket on top of the water tank. Fill the tank with tap water and close it, then slide the unit into the RoboVac - it will click and the bot will announce that the tank is attached when fitted properly.

Then just turn it on and let it get to work. Rather than drenching your hard floors, it leaves behind a thin film which dries quickly. Once finished, empty the tank thoroughly to stop smells from developing.

It’s good for getting cooking or light shampoo spills off floors, but a deeper weekly clean will still be required for most homes.

Lefant N3 Robot Vacuum Cleaner with Mop

Don't want to mention the Lefant in the room? Good luck: once you've welcomed this vacuum into your home, you won't stop singing its praises.

Fitted with anti-collision tech and LiDAR navigation, the disc-shaped robot maps and plans cleaning routes to ensure a thorough job each and every time. The mop's water tank is slightly smaller than others on our list at 160ml, but there are three levels of water flow so unless it's on the highest all the time, that should be plenty to give your hard floors a good wash.

It's on the smaller side at just 32cm wide, making it nimble enough to get through tight spots and doorways. With a 5200mAh lithium iron phosphate battery, it promises to go with distance with 150min of cleaning time when it's on full juice.

Buy now £254.99, Amazon

Roborock S8 Robot Vacuum Cleaner with Dual Brush

The robot offers superior levels of suction and can detect different types of terrain, moving from hard floors to rugs and carpets seamlessly. It's an excellent choice for homes with pets, able to collect dust, bacteria and hair without tangling thanks to a movable solid rubber brush.

Laser detection and cameras stop it from bumping into furniture, even if you schedule a clean in low light conditions. Like all robot vacuums, it can be controlled via an app but also by voice command too, offering the ultimate convenience. And it comes with a removable and washable mop too!

While the mop is removable, you don't need to manually insert the tank each time you want to mop. Leave it in the machine and it will automatically detect if the surface needs mopping (hard floors) and will hover if it finds carpet and rugs. You can leave it to get on with the task at hand without switching between the mop and vacuum functions.

Phew, consider that all bases well and truly covered.

Stick Vacuum Deals

Vax Blade 4 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

Weight: 3.1kg

With a longer runtime than some others on the market, the estimated 45 minutes of power from this cordless vacuum gives you enough time to clean the house without stopping for a tea break. The battery can be fully recharged in three hours or less for a quicker clean - and multiple batteries can be swapped around easily so you’re not waiting for one to charge. At just 3.1kg, this model is one of the lighter options on our list and easy to lift around the house.

The base can be detached to use as a handheld cleaner for even greater flexibility. Integrated LEDs light up the floor to highlight dust, meaning there’s no excuse for missing a patch of messy carpet. The brand has also considered noise levels and at 65dB operating volume, this cleaner is one of the quieter choices available in this category. Like others on our list, this vacuum can be wall-mounted and stored easily in a cupboard.

Shark Stratos Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner with Anti Hair Wrap Plus

The Shark Stratos Anti Hair Wrap Plus Pet Pro Cordless Vacuum [IZ420UKT] box makes big promises, not least a cleaning time of up to 120 mins (that’s if you buy the version with the spare battery and use the vacuum only in eco mode).

There’s also DuoClean – Shark’s integrated system which features two brush rolls in one head (one soft, one bristled) and anti-odour technology. The detail of some added flexibility in a stick vacuum is an exciting notion for a cleaner as reluctant as myself, as well as the pledge that this has Shark’s “best ever hair pick-up”.

GTECH AirRam MK2 Cordless Bagless Vacuum Cleaner

Best for: quick clean-ups

  • Battery life: 40 minutes
  • Battery type: rechargeable
  • Cord length: n/a
  • Dimensions: 112 x 33.5 x 20 cm
  • Weight: 3.2

This machine is a techy update of those old-fashioned carpet sweepers that your Granny had. It doesn’t have a reservoir for the dust and dirt, holding this all in the head. While this obviously means it doesn’t have anywhere near as large a capacity as other cleaners, it does make it ideal for quick clean-ups and for carrying up and down stairs. Think of it more as a motorised dustpan and brush.

It’s also good for those who might struggle to use a dustpan, so the elderly or those with disabilities would find this really useful and you might choose it as a second cleaner in place of a handheld model.

It has bright LED lights on the brush head to help you see where the dirt lies and some fancy technology called AirLOC that means that you suck up the larger debris as you push forwards and it ‘locks’ on the backwards pull, so that dirt doesn’t come back out again - handy.

This little cordless cleaner has a lithium-ion battery to give you plenty of run time and there is an indicator to let you know when it’s running low. Once it’s full, open the bin and simply press a sliding lever on the cleaner head and all the debris is pushed out without having to touch any dirty surfaces, The brush inside rotates to give floors a deep clean and spins dust up into the suction area, it can cope with very fine dust and it is suitable for any kind of floor surface. The handle is easy to grasp and the whole handle moves to allow you to reach under tricky furniture.

The handle is also adjustable, so it will be ideal for all in the family, no matter how tall or short they are. Its slim profile makes it easy to store in a cupboard under the stairs or behind the kitchen door. Finally, it is light and manoeuvrable and makes a great addition to your household, though you’d probably need a ‘big’ vacuum cleaner too.

Bosch Unlimited 7 Aqua Vacuum & Mop, 2 in 1 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

Bosch’s Unlimited 7 Aqua is a 2-in-1 marvel that I’d wholeheartedly recommend to time-stretched households looking for a quick and powerful dual-action device which eliminates the need to clean twice. Though the RRP is £499, it’s a bargain considering you’re getting two motorised, highly effective appliances in one sleek, stylish and feather-light piece of kit.

NUMATIC Henry HVR160 Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner

Handheld Vacuum Deals

Shark WandVac 2.0 Cordless Handheld Vacuum Cleaner

This is one of Shark‘s newest handheld vacuums with a powerful and highly efficient motor that gives even more suction than similar models. It is fairly good-looking for a vacuum too, in dark metallic hues and they make much of the fact that you can leave it out on display, ready to grab at the moment a spill has been made. I liked the fact that the base unit that it clips into also holds the two additional tools, meaning everything is kept in one place, which is very handy.

It’s lightweight, one of the lightest I have tried. You wouldn’t want to have it as your only vacuum in a decent-sized home but it’s great for those tasks like cleaning the stairs, sucking up the crumbs from the kitchen worktop, getting into corners where a corded vacuum can’t reach and cleaning out your car or garage.
