UK theme parks including Alton Towers, Legoland, Thorpe Park and Chessington are all ramping up the horror for Halloween 2022 with terrifying scare mazes and special events.
They're all hosting terrifying nights out and a whole slew of fun events lined up for October - and it's perfect timing for families looking for fun things to do this half term.
It's not just high thrills though as the park offer plenty of fun spooky events for little ones who aren't quite ready for full blown scares.
This year there's something for everyone, whether that be visiting a park with the kids for a night of fun and frights, or an adults-only night with DJs and dancing.

Chessington World of Adventures
Running: October 15 to October 30
This family event will see some familiar Chessington Howl’o’ween favourites like the Witches of Adventure Point return to the resort.
Other characters on site include Wilf the Werewolf and Violet the Vampire Bat, who will appear in a show together, while the Trick or Treat live show has been revamped.
Brand new land Shipwreck Coast, a disaster-ridden harbour town with two new rides will open for the event and there’s a multi-award-winning scare maze, the Creepy Caves to get stuck into.
There’s also a fancy dress competition and even a potions class for kids.

Legoland – Brick or Treat
Running: October 1 to 31
Perfect for families with little ones, Legoland is pulling out all the stops with its Halloween bash including a Monster Party, while the Great Monster Chase 4D movie will have kids giggling.
The new Halloween Harbour Show – Monster Jam – features Square Foot, Monster Rocker, Wolf Guy, Tiger Lady and Zombie Cheerleader in concert.
There are five new characters to meet, a Monster Street with unusual and occultist goings on, new photo spots and 55 rides and attractions on offer.

Alton Towers Resort – Scarefest
Running: October 7 to 9 and 14 to 31
Scarefest has become an institution at Alton Towers and is now in its 15th year, once again promising a night filled of terror and thrills.
On offer in 2022 are the classic thrills of rides like Oblivion, which races riders through the air in the pitch black, and the doomladen Wicker Man.
There are over 40 rides and attractions open at the parks until 9pm at night, while the Alton Towers Dungeon is open for those brave enough to tiptoe through it.
You can also get stuck into the scare mazes like The Invitation and Terror of the Towers, and ghoul hunters can step onto the Garden Lights Walk: Whispering Souls for a ghostly adventure.

Thorpe Park - Fright Nights
Running: September 30 to Oct 31
Halloween Fright Nights will return to the park for its 21st birthday celebration, making it a true veteran in the world of scary theme park.
A veteran, but still fresh.
The theme park has promised spine-tingling scare mazes, truly terrifying scare zones and awe-inspiring shows.
There are also three new scare attractions.
That's all alongside the horror themed rollercoaster SAW – The Ride, which is an absolute must especially as they'll be keeping ride open late into the dark.

Drayton Manor – Halloween at Drayton
Running: October 22 to 30
Drayton Manor will have plenty of spooky additions like pumpkins and hay bales at the Pumpkin Smash bash.
Guests can also head to the Castle of Spooks at any time during the visit to meet scary characters and get a trick or treat experience, ride the Haunted Express, Hunt for Zebidiah on a night time walk, and party like a Viking with a DJ and the Vikings rides after dark.
Pumpkin Smash Bash tickets cost £32 per person between the ages of four and 59.
Kids aged two to three cost £15 a ticket and concessions are £31.50.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach – Journey to Hell
Running: October 7 to 30
Blackpool Pleasure Beach is so scary you must be 10 years or older to attend what is sure to be a terrifying day out.
Explore the Legend of the Cursed Caves and get stuck into the Hell Tunnel maze, or try not to be bewitched by the park's sirens.
The Pasaje del Terror also provides guests with an interactive horror show which is sure to make you jump.

Paulton’s Park – Halloween Breaks
Running: October 13 to 31
Get stuck into the Halloween shows at Paulton’s this October, which offers a perfect fusion of Peppa Pig themed attractions and spookiness - not to mention Peppa and her friends might make an appearance in their Halloween costumes!
You can also enjoy all the park’s rides in the dark during Late Night Openings on October 25, 26 and 27.
