Nearly half of football fans prefer watching a match from the comfort of their sofa, rather than in a stadium – because it is cheaper and there are fewer distractions.
A poll of 2,000 football enthusiasts revealed that the best things about watching a match at home were a guaranteed comfy seat, saving money, and being able to hear the commentary.
And two-thirds (65%) of those polled expect to watch most of their football at home, rather than at stadiums, this upcoming season, amid the cost-of-living crisis.
