Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has signed a new long-term contract at St James' Park after the club announced his deal on the eve of the new season.
Howe was contracted until 2024 but now has the security of a longer deal after making the move north following a successful first season in charge.
In his first campaign he steered Newcastle away from the relegation zone and guided them into 11th place. Only Liverpool (47) and Manchester City (40) have accumulated more points in the Premier League than Newcastle (35) since the turn of the year.
