A SCOTTISH author is set to have one of her books turned into a TV series.
Sophie Gravia, 32, will have her debut novel, A Glasgow Kiss, made into a show by BBC Studios.
The novel, which was inspired by Gravia's blog, was self-published over lockdown and became an instant bestseller - leading to the single mum of two securing a four book deal with publisher Orion Books.
Based in Glasgow, the book follows 29-year-old Zara Smith who is single and muddling her way through life as a trainee nurse.
With 30 fast approaching, she's determined to do whatever it takes to find love. From online dating and blind dates to hometown hook-ups, Zara embarks on a string of hilarious dating escapades.
Speaking at an author event Glasgow’s Wunderbar, Sophie said: “A Glasgow Kiss has been optioned by BBC Studios. We’ve signed a contract and I’m buzzing.
"It’s still early days but I feel like this is made for the screen and can’t wait to see what happens next.
“When you write a book I suppose the goal is to see it on screen and it’s always been in the back of my mind how amazing it would be."
She joked: “If I had someone like Michelle Keegan or Matthew McConaughey we’d obviously need a sizeable budget. Finding the right people to play my characters will be a fun process.”
