Howth is a north Dublin town that is full to the brim with things to do, sights to see and meals to eat.

From locally sourced seafood to dishes that are a bit more exotic, expect your taste buds to be tantalised when visiting this area of Dublin.

The Doghouse Blues and Tearooms

For edgy vibes, excellent food and even BYOB, The Doghouse Blues and Tearooms is where you'll want to head. Located just beside the DART station in Howth, this place is dog friendly and serves up a menu consisting of smoked Irish salmon, steak with prawns, burgers, pasta and a range of pizzas.

The Bloody Stream

Right under the DART station is The Bloody Stream, an excellent spot to catch the sun while enjoying pints and comforting Irish fare such as burgers and steaks.

O'Connell's

O'Connell's is located across from the pier in Howth and is a go-to for food and drinks when visiting the area. Expect to enjoy things like wings, chowder, sirloin steak, sesame chicken, fish and chips and more tasty dishes.

Plus, the bar has a fabulous range of cocktails as well as draft beers and spirits.

Octopussy

If it's seafood tapas you're in the market for when searching among the restaurants in Howth, Octopussy is where you'll want to visit for that. Located on the west pier, Octopussy provides a slice of Mediterranean goodness with bites such as lobster, shellfish, squid, prawns and oysters.

The Abbey Tavern

The Abbey Tavern is a traditional Irish pub and restaurant located on Abbey Street in Howth. They serve pints along with traditional fish and chips, sirloin steak, bacon cheeseburger and other dishes that are sure to fill you after a day exploring in Howth.

King Sitric

Located opposite the east pier in Howth is King Sitric, a seafood bar where you can expect to enjoy oysters, lobster, mussels, Dublin Bay prawn, smoked fish and other delights from the sea.

Aqua Restaurant

Aqua is located on the west pier in Howth and, much like its neighbouring restaurants, specialises in delicious seafood. Expect to enjoy dishes like Balscadden Bay lobster, scampi and chips, whole Dover sole and Piri Piri prawns.

The Brass Monkey

The Brass Monkey is another Howth restaurant located on the west pier. The menu here consists of Thai red curry, beer battered fish and chips, grilled catch of the day and 'The Monkey Burger'.

The Pier House Restaurant

The Pier House opened on Howth's west pier in 2020 and has been delighting locals and visitors since then with contemporary fine dining. Dishes on the menu include oven-roasted monkfish, seafood linguine, chicken supreme and roast Atlantic cod.

The House

Located on Howth's Main Street is The House Restaurant, serving burgers, steaks, haddock, lamb and weekly fish specials.

Wright's Findlater

A short walk from Howth DART station takes you to Wright's Findlater, a cosy bar and restaurant that is great for pints and a bit after a busy day in the area. The menu here includes things like the steak sandwich, buttermilk and oat chicken burger and chargrilled steak, to name a few.
