Pet nat, short for pétillant naturel, is a naturally-sparkling wine that’s no longer just for East London hipsters (although the cool crowd still adore it), but has slowly crept into mainstream drinking culture — or, at the very least, specialist wine merchants and particularly foodie restaurants.
From Terroirs in Covent Garden, to Noble Rot and Ducksoup in Soho, and OMA in Borough Market, there’s an increasing amount of choice when it comes to pet nats at eateries across the capital, while the likes of Majestic and even Tesco are starting to stock naturally sparkling bottles on their shelves.
