It may have been 12 years (!) since the UK hosted the Olympic Games, but our admiration and obsession with watching the world’s top athletes do their seemingly superhuman thing hasn’t dimmed in the intervening years.
Now the torch is skimming past our isle once more, headed to one of our closest neighbours just across the Channel.
