Hybrid working has elevated our laptops to the most important piece of tech most of us own.

Gone are the days of the bulky desktop computer - even Mark Zuckerberg codes using a portable device.

Yet even with their heightened status, it is still a daunting process to upgrade - and this comes down to the initial outlay. A new laptop is expensive but it doesn't have to put so much of a dent on your bank balance.

Follow in the footsteps of savvy shoppers and save shopping for your replacement device during big sales events. Luckily, the Amazon Prime Big Deal Days is coming.

What is the Amazon Prime Day?

If you’re new to Amazon’s shopping events, strap in. In the last couple of years, the one-stop shop has treated its customers to a series of sales that are not to be missed. Bargain hunters will create their wish lists in preparation for the big sales bonanzas and finally take the plunge when they spot heavily reduced RRPs.

This year, there was the Spring Sale in March, Amazon Prime Day in July and will be the Big Deal Days in October.

During the event, there will be deals across kids’ toys, lawnmowers, alcohol, TVs, vacuum cleaners and much, much more.

When is Amazon Prime Big Deal Days 2024?

Amazon’s flagship Prime Day sale takes place in July each year but the Big Deal Days will be on October 8 and 9. The specific dates are yet to be announced.

How to take part in Amazon Prime Big Deal Days

It is essential to be an Amazon Prime member to take part in the Prime Big Deals Days event. This costs £8.99 per month or £95 per year but if you’re a student, this is reduced to £4.49 per month or £47.49 per year. There’s also a 30-day free trial so you can try it commitment free first. Not only will this subscription give you access to Amazon’s plentiful sales but you will also be able to stream Prime Video and Amazon Music, get free delivery on Deliveroo, and of course make the most of next-day delivery.
