Sorting the perfect plan for date night can sometimes be a struggle, especially when it comes to choosing where to go for food. While people tend to head for their regular favourite, trying something new could be a fun way to find your new regular place for when you eat out.
There are many amazing chain restaurants dotted around the city for people to choose from but there are also some beautiful independents that could be the perfect place to try on a date night.
One Reddit user recently posted on the platform asking Bristolians which independent restaurants around the city they would recommend for a cute date night. The post read: “Best independent restaurants for a cute date?”. Around 20 people replied with some impressive suggestions.
One commenter gave a range of different places they would suggest, they said: “Little French, Adelina Yard, Cotto, Bianchis, Marmo, Wislons, COR and Bravas. I could go on but there’s a start.”
Bravas also received another vote from a second commenter who said: “Another vote for Bravas.” The Spanish tapas restaurant and bar is located on Cotham Hill in the Redland area and according to Google has a 4.7 star rating and nearly a thousand reviews. Open every day of the week apart from Sunday, the restaurant could be the perfect place to try if you’re wanting a chilled evening with good food.
Another eatery to receive a few mentions was Marmo, a meat and fish bar on Baldwin Street in the heart of the city. One Reddit user said: “Marmo. The absolute best date restaurant ever.” The restaurant has a 4.6 star rating and has an ideal location should you want to head for a drink or somewhere else afterwards.
A third restaurant that got mentioned a couple of times was Mediterranean tapas restaurant Muino, also located on Cotham Hill. The restaurant is a family-run business open every day of the week except Sunday and offers diners a relaxed atmosphere inspired by the ‘culture of Galicia in the Northwest of Spain’.
Another commenter said: “Muino is my partner absolute favourite place in the city!”
