Manchester United's supporters lauded Marcus Rashford after he stepped off the bench to provide two assists in the Reds' 2-0 Carabao Cup semi-final second-leg victory over Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
The England international, who has been in sensational form since returning from the World Cup in December, claimed two assists in the space of just three second half minutes, ensuring United won 2-0 on the night and the tie 5-0 on aggregate. Having climbed off the bench just past the hour mark, he teed up fellow substitute Anthony Martial to bundle the ball home from close quarters 11 minutes later.
Rashford was the provider again just three minutes later, putting the ball on a plate for Fred to tap home from inside the six-yard box, sealing a 12th successive Old Trafford win. United had brought the cavalry on just past the hour mark, with manager Erik ten Hag turning to Jadon Sancho, Martial and Rashford.
