After the 14th full slate of regular season action, many fantasy football leagues are heading into the first week of their playoffs.
If you had a tough injury in Week 14, or you have a player that’s been underperforming, we’ll scan the waiver wire. For potential pickups, we’ll consider players who are available in at least 50% of ESPN fantasy leagues.
Let’s take a look at some of the potential waiver wire pickups that could help your teams heading into Week 15 of the NFL campaign.
Donovan Peoples-Jones, WR, Cleveland Browns (44.3%)
Peoples-Jones has been a go-to target for Deshaun Watson since his return. This past week, Watson’s second game back, the wideout brought in eight receptions for 114 yards on 12 targets. While he didn’t find the end zone, that type of production is undeniable, and if he is able to score he can keep up those fantasy numbers even without the massive target share.
Jerick McKinnon, RB, Kansas City Chiefs (34.6%)
With Clyde Edwards-Helaire on injured reserve, Kansas City’s backfield duties are split between McKinnon and Isaiah Pacheco. The former has averaged 20.95 fantasy points over the last two weeks with a pass-catching ability that makes him a real threat in Patrick Mahomes’ offense.
Brock Purdy, QB, San Francisco 49ers (7.0%)
Surprisingly, the last selection in this year’s draft class has looked solid in his first two games with legitimate playing time. He’s averaged 18 points over the last two weeks which would make him the 11th-best quarterback in fantasy on the year. He’s dealing with an injury before a Thursday night matchup against Seattle, but he may still be worth looking into, especially in deeper leagues.
Evan Engram, TE, Jacksonville Jaguars (44.5%)
Engram’s 33.7-point performance in Week 14 vaulted him up to the fourth-ranked tight end in fantasy on the season. He’s also scored three touchdowns in his last two games.
Building a rapport with Trevor Lawrence isn’t a bad thing for Engram, who will need to keep putting up numbers if he wants to get paid this offseason.
Commanders, D/ST (34.9%)
The Commanders are still waiting for Chase Young to make his 2022 debut, but they haven’t been terrible without him. In fact, they’ve been the eighth-ranked unit in fantasy.
Going into Week 15, Washington is taking on the Los Angeles Rams’ 32nd-ranked offense. Despite new quarterback Baker Mayfield playing to a win last week, the offense wasn’t overly potent, and there’s always a chance that the 2018 first pick turns the ball over a time or two.
