Efrideet is another Destiny: Rising character hailing from the original series and is the first playable Iron Lord. She’s an energetic and competitive Hunter who deals a lot of damage with both abilities and weapons, although her survivability can be an issue.
Here’s the best Efrideet build in Destiny: Rising to maximize survivability and damage.

All Efrideet abilities in Destiny: Rising

Efrideet is an Arc Offense character, with a lot of ability spam and increased fire rates for high DPS. When you play Efrideet, you can safely spam her abilities, as those also improve your weapons to deal more damage.
Here are all of Efrideet’s abilities in Destiny: Rising:
- Contender (passive): Attacking combatants with Javelins or landing shots while Competition is active grants Competitive Advantage. Competitive Advantage increases damage dealt and heals you if you take damage.
- Lightning Catcher (Signature): Throws a javelin, dealing damage and blinding enemies. If a javelin doesn’t hit a target, it will disappear, refunding 70 percent energy.
- Competition Time (Signature): Dodges and gains Competition for eight seconds. Competition grants movement speed bonus, fire rate, and offsets damage taken. During Competition, the ability can be recast for additional dodges.
- Storm Exclusion (Super): Leaps and throws a Thunderous Javelin, dealing continuous damage and blinding enemies.
Efrideet’s second Relic trait, Contest Reward, is a must-have for her best Artifacts to work. It reloads and overflows the weapons with every dodge while Competition is active.
Best Efrideet weapons in Destiny: Rising
Hand cannon

| Weapon | Rarity | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Crimson | Exotic | Shifting Gate |
| ‘Til Eternal Death | Exotic | Battle pass |
| Jezibaba | Mythic | Gauntlet: Blitz |
Efrideet actually prefers an Exotic in the primary weapon slot over heavy. Crimson is great for survivability, as precision kills with the hand cannon restore health and reload the magazine, allowing you to keep firing under the Competitive Advantage’s effects.
If you’re playing an easier or more team-based activity, the ‘Til Eternal Death hand cannon is also a good choice. On top of dealing additional damage with Lightning Strikes, it also applies debuffs to the enemy, making it take up to 100 percent increased damage from you and other players.
For Mythic hand cannons, Jezibaba Arc Adaptive Frame hand cannon can roll with perks like Emboldening Support and Horror’s Metabolism. The latter synergizes well with Efrideet’s Competition Time, which reloads the equipped weapons.
Sniper rifle

| Weapon | Rarity | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Tatara Gaze | Mythic | Shifting Gates Legendary Campaign |
| 40000 Sidereal Year | Mythic | Gauntlet: Onslaught Gauntlet: Blitz |
| Cloudstrike | Exotic | Gauntlet: Onslaught – Ginunaga |
There are two Mythic sniper rifles you can use: Tatara Gaze and 40000 Sidereal Year. Tatara Gaze is an Arc sniper and allows you to take advantage of Arc Boost on the Artifacts, but ideally, you want one of each to make Efrideet more flexible. The 40000 Sidereal Year can roll perks like Fraternity with Searing Mark, while Tatara Gaze can roll Vorpal Weapon or Annihilation with Antecendent.
Among Exotic options, Cloudstrike is great for dealing sustained damage. It returns ammo to the magazine with the first catalyst and creates lightning storms. However, it only drops from Gauntlet: Onslaught and sacrifices the survivability of Crimson.
Izanagi’s Burden or Borealis could also work. However, with the fire rate buff Efrideet gets from Competition Time, you ideally want a weapon to mag dump during the ability’s eight-second window.
Best Efrideet Artifacts in Destiny: Rising

| Slot | Artifact | Effect | Attributes |
|---|---|---|---|
| First slot | Nourishing Pact | Summons restore total health when they take the field. | Elemental Resistance Health Boost Shield Boost Ranged Damage Resistance |
| Second slot | Ring of Conversion | A percentage of overflow healing from the wielder’s own abilities is converted into an overshield. | Elemental Resistance Health Boost Shield Boost Ranged Damage Resistance |
| Third slot | Preponderant Plasma | Upon inflicting debuffs via abilities, the wielder deals more damage for a limited time. Repeatedly applying debuffs greatly extends the effect. | Weapon Enhancement Damage Bonus Signature Boost Arc Boost |
| Fourth slot | Undaunted Spiral | Reloading weapons via abilities increases damage dealt for a limited time. | Weapon Enhancement Damage Bonus Signature Boost Arc Boost |
Efrideet has built-in healing, but it’s often not enough to consistently sustain her in battle, which is why a combination of Nourishing Pact and Ring of Conversion ensures not only a full healthbar, but also consistent overshield.
Nourishing Pact restores a percentage of total health when you create a summon. For Efrideet, her Lightning Catcher javelins count as summons. With high ability uptime, you can consistently heal yourself, alongside getting heals from the core kit, all of which converts into an overshield with Ring of Conversion.
The stats on the first two Artifacts include Elemental Resistance, Health Boost, Shield Boost, and Ranged Damage Resistance. Overshield Bonus can also work to improve the Ring of Conversion’s strength, but it’s not as important.
For offensive Artifacts, Preponderant Plasma grants a consistent 30 percent damage increase at maximum perk tier, thanks to Lightning Catcher’s high uptime with two charges. Lastly, Undaunted Spiral increases damage by 30 percent for 15 seconds when reloading using an ability, synergizing with Competition Time, which only has a 13-second cooldown.
The stats for the third and fourth Artifact slots include Weapon Enhancement, Damage Bonus, Signature Boost, and Arc Boost. Super Boost isn’t bad, but the Super isn’t a major source of Efrideet’s damage, making Arc Boost better, especially if you’re using double Arc weapons.
