Newcastle fans have hailed their defensive display following their goalless draw against league leaders Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
As a result, the Magpies extended their unbeaten run in the Premier League to 13 games. Newcastle followed their 0-0 draw against Leeds United at St James' Park on New Year's Eve with a second goalless stalemate on the bounce.
Eddie Howe made a surprising double change in the 68th minute when he replaced Miguel Almiron and Callum Wilson with Jacob Murphy and Chris Wood respectively.
Eddie Nketiah had a golden chance in the final five minutes when his low finish was thwarted by the outstretched leg of Nick Pope.

The Newcastle goalkeeper kept a club record six straight clean sheets, although there was late drama, as Arsenal had a late claim for a penalty.
Granit Xhaka appealed for handball on Jacob Murphy, and there was tension on the touchline between Howe and Mikel Arteta, after VAR opted not to award a penalty kick.
Here is how Newcastle fans have been reacting to the draw against Arsenal on social media...
@MichaelArma1997 Solid defensive performance. Arteta is crying. Point deserved.
@agbnufc MASSIVE. Arsenal have not dropped a single point at home until this. Insane effort all I can ask. Still undefeated since August, wow.
@nufcsean Absolutely brilliant effort. First team to stop arsenal scoring in the league this season. The first team to take a point off them at home this season. Newcastle United are a different beast now.
@nufcpanda Can anyone remember the last time we actually conceded a goal?
@GeordieJohn88 HUGE POINT!! So proud of this team we never stop battling.
@PawlMartin Solid point. I was disappointed with Leeds draw. This felt like a win as Arsenal clearly had the momentum! Ref was awful.
@SavMondo Best defence in the league.
@NathLewis06 It was not the prettiest of performances but defensively that was incredible. We haven't got the best defence in the league for no reason.
@scottwilson1984 I reckon most fans would've taken a draw before the game, and won't be too disappointed with one now. It wasn't pretty in parts but previously we'd have had a hiding there. Job done I reckon.
