In 2026, Chinese or Lunar New Year, also known as chunjie, kicks off on February 17 with celebrations running until March 3. The calendar follows the 12 animals of the zodiac, and 2025’s Year of the Snake is slithering off to make way for 2026’s Year of the Fire Horse.
