For the savvy shoppers among us, we have been waiting since Black Friday to get our hands on tech at stop-the-press-worthy prices, especially when it comes to a brand like Apple.

And we have some good news, the countdown is officially on. The Amazon Prime Day dates have been announced so let the virtual shopping excitement begin.

While there are discounts on almost every category of tech under the sun – we’re talking TVs, laptops, Amazon devices, Nintendo Switch and more – it’s particularly the iPhone, Apple Watch, Mac Book and AirPod deals that have been the subject of squeals of joy.

While Android users may beg to differ, the Steve Jobs-founded label has some of the most advanced, best and fastest tech on the market – at the forefront of innovation and constantly updating its models.

Alongside retailer Amazon, it is one of the most easily recognised brands in the world and as such the brand rarely needs to discount its wares in order to drum up sales. Yet, this Amazon Prime Day, you can get some of the most coveted items from the extensive offering at a fraction of the cost. How you ask? Read on.

When is Amazon Prime Day 2022?

Gear up for the official two-day sales event that will take place this year on July 12-13. The 48 hour event – that begins on July 12 at 00.01am and runs through to 23.59pm on July 13 - promises to have some of the Amazon’s lowest prices ever.

This is a worldwide event taking place in the UK (of course) as well as Austria, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, the U.S., and, for the first time, Poland and Sweden.

Do you need a Prime account to get the deals?

Affirmative. In order to make the most of the discount extravaganza, it is crucial to be an Amazon Prime Day member. This means that you will need to pay £7.99 a month, £79 a year or partake in the retailer’s 30-day free trial.

Worth every penny, the subscription offers same or next day delivery on a seemingly endless selection of products as well as access to the Amazon’s streaming service Prime Video, audiobooks, Kindle favourites, Music and much more.

What type of deals are available?

Throughout the sales event, look out for the different types of deals on offer. Pay particular attention to whether it’s a Lightning Deal as this is a discount that will only be available for a very limited amount of time – we’re talking just a few hours in some cases. There’s also Deals of the Day.

What deals on Apple were there last year?

Even though Amazon had recently launched the iPhone 12, there were deals across this model as well as older devices and at a range of storage options. Apple Watches, AirPods and MacBooks were also painted with the discount brush.

What deals can we expect this year?

We predict there will be savings on both the newer iPhone models – that’s the 13 – as well as Apple Watch 7, which was one of the most sought-after items during the Black Friday sale. AirPods, AirPods, AirPods – there’s never a better time to shop.
