A selection of Manchester United fans have branded the cost of sacking club legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as dubbing it "best £10million ever spent".
The club on Tuesday released their annual financial figures covering the period in which Solskjaer was dismissed. His time in the post came to an end in November, just shy of three years in the role, as the Reds were downed 4-1 by Watford at Vicarage Road.
Solskjaer, an iconic figure for his time at Old Trafford, received around £7.5m as a payoff. The total compensation package was closer to £10m.

Whilst Darren Fletcher and Mike Phelan remained in post to help interim appointment Ralf Rangnick, Michael Carrick decided to leave the club. Kieran McKenna was soon after appointed by Ipswich Town, bringing Martyn Pert with him from Old Trafford.
Cliff Baty, Chief Financial Officer, said: “For the second fiscal quarter of 2022, we achieved robust revenue growth of 7.3% despite the postponement of two matches in the quarter due to COVID-19.
"Results reflect the continued strength of our sponsorship revenues, supported by record-breaking digital fan engagement, in addition to the return of more normalized matchday operations. We look forward with optimism to the remainder of the fiscal year."
The Reds are still on their search for a permanent successor to the Norwegian, with Mauricio Pochettino and Erik ten Hag among the list of candidates to take over the reins from Rangnick.
