As of the latest update from the National Hurricane Center, Beryl remains a Category 1 hurricane with sustained winds of 75 mph. The hurricane's center is currently positioned approximately 30 miles southwest of Houston and is moving north at a speed of 12 mph.

The impact of Beryl is already being felt in Houston, with strong winds intensifying as the storm's eyewall, where the most powerful winds are concentrated, moves closer to the metro area.
