Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva was quick to praise Phil Foden after the Englishman scored again in the 2-0 victory over Newcastle United.
Foden got City off to the perfect start on Saturday afternoon giving the Blues an early lead. The 22-year-old showed he was full of confidence as he weaved through the Magpies' defence before his deflected effort evaded Nick Pope.
City rode their luck at times and were fortunate that both Callum Wilson and Joelinton squandered opportunities to score. With just more than 20 minutes remaining Bernardo made the visitors pay.

Coming off the bench just moments earlier, the Portuguese midfielder fired home an impressive strike to put the game out of reach of the Champions League-chasing side. Post-match, Bernardo was asked about his City teammate and he was full of praise for him.
"He’s [Foden] so good," the City man told BT Sport. "He’s one of those players that can decide games for you, take on one or two players and then score a goal like today.
"Happy for him because he went through a difficult period because of his injury so he’s back and we’re very happy to have him with us because like today he showed that he can solve some of our problems." When asked what the result means for the wider context of the title race, Bernardo explained that he was firmly focusing on factors he can control.
He added: "The chase is on. We know that we dropped points against Forest, which was very frustrating, and Arsenal won their game-in-hand.
"We’ll see, we can only focus on ourselves, we cannot focus on Arsenal. We need to do our job because if we don’t it doesn’t matter what Arsenal does."
