Manchester City star Bernardo Silva has challenged the narratives surrounding his side and title rivals Arsenal in the race to win the Premier League this season. It comes as the campaign enters the final few months of action, with the Gunners sitting eight points clear at the top with an extra game played.
Both sides have begun to hit their stride in recent weeks, with every challenge set for the opposition garnering a response from their rivals. The latest example of this was City running out 4-1 winners over Liverpool in an early match on Saturday, only for the Gunners to run out with a 4-1 victory in their own tie against Leeds United.
"Just enjoy the moment we are in," Mikel Arteta said on the title race. "We have nine games to go but we have a training session today that is going to enable us to be better as a team. If we go through the journey day by day, when the gong comes we are in the right state of mind. We are really looking forward to it. We have oxygen to grab instead of [gasps] ‘next game, next game’. We go to the next target and we go for it."

Plenty of pundits and fans are having their say on which side will come out on top, however City star Silva believes there's a hypocritical stance going around on the title race. “I think we’re playing our best football of the season,” Silva said after the win over Liverpool.
“Where we are at the moment is the best we’ve played, by far. Arsenal can win it, but we're going to fight until the end. It can go both ways. Some people say 'City are more experienced' and others say 'oh, because they’ve won it in the past, they don’t want to win it any more'.
“For Arsenal, it's the same. One day they don't have enough experience to win it, but the next day it’s 'oh they're very hungry because they've never won it'. Experienced or inexperienced, they are there. They are very good and deserve to be there. It could be a very important game against them, but we have big games before then. If we slip up before then, it doesn’t matter what happens in that game.”
It perhaps underlines the absurdity of making predictions on the title race with sweeping statements that justify the decisions made. It remains to be seen which team will come out on top, however it won't be for a lack of trying for both.
