The fortunes of luxury titan Bernard Arnault—and the raft of plush brands he oversees—seem to have turned around in the past week, courtesy of changing tides in China and a bet on a new fashion house.

Per the Bloomberg Billionaire's Index, Arnault's fortune leapt from $177 billion on Tuesday to $207 billion less than a week later.
