Berlusconi family sell villa famous for its celebrity ‘bunga bunga’ parties

  • The heirs of the late Silvio Berlusconi have reportedly agreed to sell his Sardinian retreat, Villa Certosa, to a company linked to Qatar's ruling family .
  • Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al Thani's Constellation Hotels Holding Ltd reportedly paid approximately €350 million for the extensive estate on Sardinia's exclusive Costa Smeralda.
  • Fininvest, the Berlusconi family holding, confirmed that one of its companies had accepted a binding offer from a foreign entity for the sale of Villa Certosa.
  • The villa is famed for its celebrity guests, including former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well as Berlusconi's 'bunga bunga' parties.
  • Spanning around 120 hectares, the property features 126 rooms, swimming pools, an amphitheatre, a vast cactus collection, a mock volcano, and a discreet underground grotto.
