London’s biggest housebuilder Berkeley today warned that a growing red tape burden and higher than expected interest rates will make it harder to deliver the new homes that the Government and the Mayor of London have promised voters.
In a trading update the company said that while sales rates are ahead of last year it “remains concerned by the impact of the extent and pace of regulatory changes of recent years, as we now await details of the new Building Safety Levy.”
