Benton family's heartbreak as baby son loses fight with a rare genetic condition at just 68 days old

On what would have been their son's first birthday, a Benton family have spoken of how - despite their tragic loss - they will be "keeping his name and his story alive".

Beauden Turnbull died aged just 68 days in May 2021. He had been diagnosed with Congenital Myotonic Dystrophy (CDM).

Parents Richard and Magda - who both work in the NHS - commemorated his birthday on February 25 by presenting staff at the RVI 's Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with a map of the night sky showing the star they had dedicated to hospital staff.
