Chelsea agreed on a £33million fee to sign Benoit Badiashile from Monaco less than 24 hours before their match against Nottingham Forest but are in a situation that their prospective new signing cannot fix.

The 21-year-old will arrive at Cobham on Monday for a medical but the atmosphere will be sour after a poor 1-1 draw at relegation strugglers Nottingham Forest.
