Benny Johnson’s wife’s posting rampage to prove the MAGA podcaster is straight refuses to go the way she planned

Benny Johnson‘s wife, Kate Johnson, has been posting heavily on X in an attempt to shut down ongoing rumors about her husband’s sexuality. But her responses seem to be drawing more attention to the claims rather than putting them to rest. Johnson is a 38-year-old MAGA podcaster and host of The Benny Show, known for his strong support of President Trump and anti-LGBTQ rhetoric.

According to The Daily Beast, the rumors about Johnson’s private life have been circulating for some time. In 2024, author Saeed Jones alleged that he “made out” with Johnson at a BuzzFeed holiday party in 2013, a claim that recently resurfaced online. Far-right provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos has also openly accused Johnson of being a closeted gay man on multiple podcast appearances.

The recent wave of activity from Kate, a 38-year-old nurse, started around Valentine’s Day. When Benny posted a “rare date night” photo and an X user commented, “Somehow I’m not surprised date night pics are rare,” Kate responded: “Having 4 kids 5 and younger makes it difficult to have out of the house date nights. Hope that helps.”

Kate Johnson’s sharp online responses are only keeping the rumors alive

Things escalated further on Kate’s own Valentine’s Day post, where she had called being married to Johnson her “biggest flex.” An X user replied, “Being a beard isn’t exactly a great flex,” using slang for someone who dates or marries a gay person as a cover. Kate fired back: “What’s it like for you being a moron?”

This kind of online conflict has become a recurring theme in MAGA circles, even as Trump’s most devoted supporters face a cost of living crisis that many describe as the worst in memory. Kate and Benny announced they were expecting their fifth child. A user immediately commented, “Not bad for a gay dude,” and Kate replied, “How much were you paid to post this?” Every attempt to share family news or defend her husband has been met with the same recurring rumors.

This is not the first time Benny Johnson has responded to these accusations directly. In December, as a contributor to Turning Point USA, he threatened to sue Yiannopoulos for making the claims on multiple podcasts. Johnson stated on social media that he felt “duty bound” to “take action to protect my family against those who maliciously defame and attack us.”

It is not just Johnson facing unusual attacks online, a story recently went viral about a man who trained crows to target MAGA supporters, becoming an unexpected internet sensation. Yiannopoulos was not deterred by the legal threat. He responded with a lengthy statement arguing that Johnson would struggle to prove actual malice in a defamation case.

He also warned that the discovery process in a lawsuit would “destroy” Johnson’s career and claimed to have “evidence” and “witnesses” to support his allegations. It is worth noting that Yiannopoulos previously identified as gay but now says he is straight after undergoing conversion therapy, which has been widely debunked by experts. Despite his threat, Johnson has not filed a lawsuit against Yiannopoulos so far. The back-and-forth between both sides continues to play out publicly, with no clear resolution in sight.
