BENGALURU: Many hotels and restaurants in the city are ready to operate through the night. But despite getting the green light from labour department over a year ago, the main obstacle seems to be securing police permission.
Labour commissioner Akram Pasha said his office will issue an online licence to all shops registered under Karnataka Shops and Establishments Act, 1961 to operate 24 hours a day. “The licences will be issued first but they can only be utilised when the hotel fulfils all the conditions required for its application. Getting police nod is one of them. There are over 15 such conditions,” Pasha told TOI.
