BENGALURU: A club and holiday partner sued by a Bengalurean for failing to return his membership fee has been pulled up by a consumer court for deficiency in service and ordered to refund the man Rs 1,26,400 with interest, apart from paying him an additional Rs 20,000.
On September 15, 2019, Kasavanahalli resident Abhishek Bihani, 38, signed up for a Country Club Hospitality and Holidays Limited (formerly Country Club India Ltd) membership after paying Rs 1,32,200 using his credit card. He was allegedly promised superior services and attractive holiday packages by its representatives. Within hours of paying the amount, Bihani claimed he realised the club had made false promises regarding services and demanded a refund by sending an email to its representatives in Bengaluru.
