Bengaluru: Kannada actor Diganth Manchale discharged after spine surgery

BENGALURU: Kannada actor Diganth Manchale, who suffered a freak accident in Goa on Tuesday causing a cervical spine injury, underwent surgery at a city hospital. His condition is stable and he was discharged on Wednesday evening.

Sources with Manipal Hospitals on Old Airport Road where the 38-year-old actor was admitted on Tuesday afternoon said the actor had injured his cervical spine. Dr S Vidyadhara, consultant spine surgeon, performed a successful surgical fixation on the injured star on Tuesday evening.

Diganth was brought to the hospital in an ambulance after being airlifted from Goa in a private jet that landed at HAL Airport around 4.30pm on Tuesday. The actor was holidaying in Goa with his family where he is said to have performed a backflip as part of his exercise routine. Unfortunately, he landed on his head from the flip, injuring his neck and he turned immobile.

Hospital sources said Diganth was discharged on Wednesday following the successful surgery.
