Bengaluru: Group distributes watermelons to calm tempers

Bengaluru

BENGALURU: A city-based informal group distributed watermelons across the city in the last 10 days to build bonhomie and peace among different communities.

The group — Gifting Sunnah — which was formed in 2019, started distributing watermelons among pushcart vendors, small shops, daily-wage labourers and those in need on Ram Navami (April 10). Their campaign is called #IftaarForUnity.
