BENGALURU: Traffic police can't flag down motorists for the purpose of checking documents or driving licence, except when they are conspicuously found to have committed violations like jumping a signal or during special drives.
A diktat to this effect has come from the state police chief himself. The top cop, in fact, was reiterating this in response to several queries on Twitter on why traffic cops were stopping vehicles though DG&IGP Praveen Sood had banned the same when he was additional commissioner of Bengaluru traffic police.
