Bengaluru: BMTC app nowhere in sight, users create Telegram group to track buses

BENGALURU: With BMTC’s app nowhere in sight, a group of regular bus users in the city have started a Telegram group (https://t.me/+09GgxAXbG8diNTVl) to track buses.

It’s been nearly a year since BMTC passengers have been unable to track buses on a real-time basis. The state-run bus corporation missed multiple deadlines: June 2021, December 2021, March 2022 and May 2022 and is unlikely to meet the August 2022 deadline too. The revised deadline is now November 2022.

With BMTC postponing the launch of its long pending app, this crowd-sourcing group is likely to act as an ad hoc facility for now.
