BENGALURU: A month after chief minister Basavaraj Bommai announced a new 37-km Metro line connecting Sarjapur and Hebbal at an estimated cost of Rs 15,000 crore, BMRCL on Monday floated a tender to prepare its detailed project report (DPR).
The new corridor will connect Sarjapur to Hebbal through Agara, Koramangala and Dairy Circle. As per the tender, the DPR needs to be prepared within eight months and the last date to submit bids is May 16.
The DPR will provide details like alignment, underground and elevated sections, number of stations and locations, depot, rolling stock requirement, projected ridership, estimated cost, etc. The route, which cuts through the city’s core areas, is projected to be completed by 2027-2028. While the Hebbal-Koramangala stretch will be underground, the remaining will be elevated.
