Bengals’ Trey Hendrickson ranked as one of NFL’s best by league personnel

Cincinnati Bengals edge rusher Trey Hendrickson doesn’t always get the respect he deserves nationally despite the production he puts up when chasing quarterbacks.

A new annual poll has spotlighted him this time, though. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler conducted his usual poll, asking coaches, executives and scouts to rank the top 10 edge rushers in the game:

    An offer for Bengals fans

  1. Myles Garrett (Cleveland Browns)
  2. T.J. Watt (Pittsburgh Steelers)
  3. Micah Parsons (Dallas Cowboys)
  4. Nick Bosa (San Francisco 49ers)
  5. Maxx Crosby (Las Vegas Raiders)
  6. Aidan Hutchinson (Detroit Lions)
  7. Danielle Hunter (Houston Texans)
  8. Josh Hines-Allen (Jacksonville Jaguars)
  9. Trey Hendrickson (Cincinnati Bengals)
  10. Brian Burns (New York Giants)

A year ago, Hendrickson put up 17.5 sacks with 35 pressures. Across three seasons in Cincinnati, he’s had at least 35 pressures each year, the high 45. That’s especially impressive given the injuries he’s played through and lack of productivity from other pass-rushers on the team.

Which is to say, it’s nice to see Hendrickson slot here, confirming the league views him as a serious threat, even if analysts and fans don’t always concur.
