The Cincinnati Bengals will host Louisiana tight end Johnny Lumpkin on a visit before the 2023 NFL draft.
Cincinnati lost three tight ends to free agency and only signed Irv Smith Jr. as a potential starter for next season, so lots of interest in the position makes sense at this stage of the process.
According to Aaron Wilson of Click2Houston, Lumpkin has visits with two other teams lined up, too.
Lumpkin, formerly of Hutchinson Community College before transferring in 2018, is 6’5″ and 264 pounds and scored six touchdowns since joining Louisiana, four of those coming last year.
This would likely be a late-round or undrafted idea for a Bengals team looking to restore depth to the tight end position depending on what happens in the early rounds — making Lumpkin a name to remember.
